STI Testing

We offer testing for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea.
A lack of symptoms does not ensure that a sexually transmitted disease is not present.
Seventy-five percent (75%) of women with Chlamydia infections have no symptoms. (www.cdc.gov, 2014)
If you believe you have been exposed to any STI or risky sexual behavior, please call us today at 830-629-7565.

Testing

Many Sexually Transmitted Infections may not have symptoms, but can still be passed between partners and can lead to serious health complications. STIs are more common among teens and young adults. Options for Life offers testing for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea through urine testing.

Results

Your urine sample will be sent to the Center for Disease Detection for testing. Once results are received, you will return to Options for Life for a follow-up appointment. We will provide you with a copy of your test results.

Referral

If you test positive for Chlamydia or Gonorrhea, an appointment with your doctor or the Health Department will be required for antibiotic treatment. Your partner will need to be tested and treated, as well. Regardless of your test results, we will provide you with referrals to seek further testing for other STIs.
